Die awk Aussenwerbung GmbH and PoolOne Giant Media GmbH are moving closer together: effective immediately, PoolOne will complement the awk's corporate network with its nationwide largest giant poster portfolio. PoolOne's more than 250 „Giant Media“ sites include prominent locations in German metropolises as well as the most extensive offering of large-format, high-reach sites on a regional level. These are the ideal complement to awk's more than 50,000 analog and digital OOH media, making it the second-largest provider in the German OOH market. Both companies will continue to operate independently: structures, teams, and locations will remain unchanged.

Originating from the idea of hand-painted large-format posters, PoolOne Giant Media GmbH has been known since 1993 as a provider of extraordinary and large-format advertising spaces. The current portfolio includes classic giant posters, such as Hamburg's largest advertising space at the harbour docks, as well as digital giant posters. PoolOne was one of the pioneers of digital outdoor advertising in Hamburg in 2011 with the first LED board. Special projects, such as the double-sided wrapping on the Rhein-Ruhr-Tower in Essen, completed in 2020, with a total of 7,200m² of advertising space, are further proof of their great expertise.
Christian Niehoff, Managing Director of PoolOne Giant Media, views the collaboration with awk AUSSENWERBUNG as „an important step in the strategic further development of both companies in their respective market positions.“ Within this framework, the shares of the previous PoolOne shareholders will be taken over by the corporate group surrounding awk. „With this strategic expansion of our network, we are consistently continuing the growth course that has been successful for years,“ also emphasises Markus Stahmer, Managing Director of PoolOne.
